The 2022 Jaguar F-type is a nostalgic sports vehicle with a traditionally attractive exterior and V-8-only powertrain options. Unlike the Chevrolet Corvette and the Porsche 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, the Jaguar's engine is located in front of the driver rather than behind them. The F-type has striking dimensions and a unique driving experience.
Another highlight is the exciting sound of its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine, which produces between 444 and 575 horsepower. While the Jaguar doesn't have the same short, fast, and powerful stops, go, and grip as its competitors, both the coupe and convertible will nonetheless stimulate the senses.

Jaguar F Type Engine
The only other V-8-powered sports vehicle in its class is the 2022 Jaguar F-type. Even the entry-level P450, with its 444-hp supercharged 5.0-liter engine and rear- or all-wheel drive, outperforms the most powerful six-cylinder Boxster and Cayman, which have 414 horsepower. Then there's the F-type R, which has a whopping 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The R coupe rocketed to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and over the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds at 121 mph, thanks to the standard all-wheel-drive and the same eight-speed automatic as the P450.

Unlike some of its competitors, the Jaguar F-Type is available with three engine variants, including a fuel-efficient Inline-4 engine with an EPA rating of 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway, the best in its class.
The more powerful Supercharged V6 engine achieves 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway, while the fire-spewing supercharged V8 achieves 16 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the motorway, which is excellent given the substantially higher power output compared to competitors.
